I am a first-year PhD student in the MET-Lab. I consider myself an interdisciplinarian roboticist; my B.S. is in mechanical engineering and now I am pursuing a masters and doctorate in electrical engineering. My research interests include human-robot interaction
, machine learning
, machine ethics
, the cheap hardware revolution
, and ubiquitous computing
. Currently, my focus is on making Hubo+ the greatest humanoid robotics research platform in the U.S.
I am also a trained pianist, and an awful guitarist. The past several years, I have enjoyed serving as a judge or technical director for FIRST Robotics Competitions in my hometown of Cincinnati, OH. This year I will probably be helping FIRST in Philadelphia. When the weather is nice, I bike to work. I have a toaster named Cylon. (Bonus points if you get the reference.)
